Observations on Leadership

During my long career, I was not the beneficiary of very many good mentors or bosses, so I tried hard to learn from them by observing what NOT to do. In anticipation of today’s “Coronavirus Task Force Briefing” from the White House pressroom, it occurred to me that just maybe these are “Master Classes” for leaders and aspiring leaders in what NOT to do. Think about it: do not interject self-congratulatory comments or make it all about you, do not fly off the handle at questions or feedback that might be irksome to you, do not believe you are the smartest one in the room with all the answers, do not fail to take responsibility, and do not twist the truth or make wild claims. May everyone out there continue to be safe and well.
