A Master Class on Leadership

Kudos & thanks to the WP's Molly Roberts for Sunday's superb opinion essay on Dr. Anthony Fauci. Another master class on leadership, only this time, it's all about "what TO do," rather than what NOT to do, previously and ongoingly taught by Prof. Trump. A few of the takeaways:

  1. There's not a whole lot more important than building trust. It's up there with building relationships and working hard to maintain your credibility.

  2. Mastering your field is key, but "understanding its soul" -- not to mention your own soul -- is beyond key.

  3. "Keeping it real" means never losing sight of what, and especially who, is being impacted by your work.

  4. Listen carefully to those who may disagree with you. "Open the door and let them in." Give them a seat at the table and keep listening.

  5. Never think you are, or must be, the smartest one in the room.
Thank you, Molly Roberts. And thank you, Dr. Fauci.
